That's a great question- last year Voyage Comics shared a short vintage comic of St. Francis of Assisi's life and I based the questions around that source. I looked everywhere to see if they are still sharing that as a free resource with no luck. Since it isn't mine to share, I can't post it here.
Maybe instead you could use it like a webquest where students research each question, looking specifically for that question?
But I understand maybe not wanting to use computers or open access to the internet depending on the age of your students. I will add it to my project list to make a student friendly article that will match this crossword!
What source did you use as a way for kids to find answers?
