Lenten Visio Divina Gallery Walk

Lent is quickly approaching (I promise a round up post later in the week!) so I'm busy planning activities for my students to help them enter into the richness of the Season.

On new thing I want to do with them is a gallery walk of Lenten art. I found a selection of art about the Paschal Mystery which are all in the public domain. I had them printed at an office supply store on 11x17 paper and will have them laminated at school. Each page only cost $.60, so for less than $5 I've got a collection mini posters of classic art for my students to learn from and pray with.

I plan to use these as part of a Lenten retreat where they will be hung on the wall and students will have time to walk, look, pray, and journal. I adapted the guidelines for Lectio Divina to work with Visio Divina- "Divine Seeing." I hope that the steps (which are familiar to my students) will help them slow down and really ponder this art.

If you'd like to try the same, the art I chose is available here in two sizes, as well as the Visio Divina Guide.

  1. Katie, thank you so much! Can you update the link to the 11"x17"? It is not working currently.

  2. Hi Katie!

Thanks so much for sharing. I have adapted this to a Google Slides assignment for my class to do. Thank you so much for sharing!

  3. Printing the art now. I love this sooo much! Thank you!

  4. Thank you Katie, I’d like to use the PDF at my church for our stain glass windows. Is that ok? I’ll put your URL at the bottom.
