These were the words of Pope John Paul II at the inauguration of his pontificate on October 22, 1978.
Of the countless facts about the life of JPII, his dedication to silent prayer in Eucharistic Adoration just might be the most important. In this brief biography, I chose to draw a connection with silence to the impact Pope St. John Paul II had on the world.
This is part of a new series of Saint resources which grew out of a desire to have a simple, short, meaningful biography for children alongside a basic coloring page. I love a good Saint coloring page, but I also want my students to understand and remember the significance of their lives. This way while they are coloring and I am talking about the Saint, my students also have a short bio to read. It also comes in handy alongside a wordsearch or crossword puzzle. The article can be used to research and apply facts whether for a short study (I often use these for shortened classes or weird schedule days), or they'd work great for a choice project or independent study.
