  1. What are your thoughts on ceremonies of Crowning the Blessed Mother in May with a crown of flowers and picking a "May Queen" from the Confirmation class to do the crowning? Am I being too sensitive by thinking that this oversteps boundaries and enters a very precarious position between Catholic doctrine and syncretism of pagan tradition?

    1. I think that those ceremonies are a beautiful way to honor the Mother of God! Here's an article with more about the theological and historical background: https://catholicstraightanswers.com/what-are-the-origins-of-the-may-crowning/

  2. As a CRE, who do you go to for support when the pastor and your peers aren't supportive?

    1. I'm sorry to hear that you may be experiencing that. Are there involved families that you can go to for support? Rely on those parents for feedback? Or if not within your own peers, are there follow CREs, youth directors, etc. in your region that you can collaborate with, meet with for brainstorming, etc.? Or maybe on a diocesan level? There are also several online forums and facebook groups that may be a place to get ideas, share struggles, etc.
